I appreciate your guidance in improving my Korean pronunciation. Your corrections and tips helped me recognize my mistakes and refine my speaking. I still need to work on some difficult sounds, but I feel more confident after our session. I’ll continue practicing and applying what I learned today. Looking forward to our next lesson!

Thank you for teaching me today Jiyou 선생님!
Today, we go through the sino and native numbers and ㄹ consonants. I feel way better when I do the countering number. Jiyou does put a lot of effort into adjusting my pronunciation to be more accurate and natural. She is also dedicated to assigning homework to me every week to ensure I progress. Attending her lesson requires concentration, but it is full of joy. I very much appreciate what we have been doing so far. I feel like my Korean turned stronger too!!

I joined the trial class and it was super fun. My need was to speak casual conversations so Jacob tried to have so many conversations with me as much as possible. He can also explain well in English. Highly recommend!!

I had class again today and it went well! There are many things I would like to be able to express and say in Korean but sometimes I don't have the Korean vocabulary to do so which has really been a struggle in everyday life, but through class, I'm slowly learning new vocabulary that I know I'll use in my everyday conversations. I'm looking forward to my next class and making progress!

Great lesson. We went over 어서, 고 싶어요, and flavors in Korean. A bit difficult for me, but 코코 씨 as always is very encouraging. Even when I make mistakes she corrects me in a supportive manor. Today's lesson was fun, and I look forward to the next one.

I’d had a bit of a bad week this week and hadn’t been able to study much so I was feeling a bit anxious before my lesson. But Rosie 쌤 made me feel so relaxed and positive! I have so much fun in my lessons and this is the longest I have stuck with learning Korean and still look forward to my lessons every week! I’m less worried about making mistakes or getting things wrong and even the most difficult of things are explained so well! Thank you for making my week and making me love learning! 🥰

Class was great. We talked a little bit of directions and then we worked on pass tense. Also, did some listening today. It was a bit challenging but I believe the more I do it, the better I will be able to do it.

희지 선생님 and I went over lots of grammar today. She was very patient with me as I tried giving examples of each one. If my example didn't make sense, she explained why it was wrong. My understanding is clearly getting better in class because I got very few mistakes on my grammar homework. I look forward to our next class.

The trial class with Patrick was a wonderful experience! As someone who has a difficult time learning languages and just started learning Korean, I appreciated how well he explained the basics of Hangul and vowel/consonant pronunciation in less than 30 minutes. His English is excellent, and his study materials were easy to follow. Learning a language is a daunting process, but after working a little with Patrick, I'm encouraged and excited for my next session. I hope you will consider checking out his trial class. I'm certainly glad I did!

Today, we have learned two grammar points: A/V-(으)ㄹ걸(요) to express a strong possibility in spoken form and V-는 대로 which means as soon as or as a certain action is done. We have also talked about the unforgetable fansign experience I just had with Kyuhyun in Taiwan.

I really appreciate my teacher for making adjustments to my learning plan. Since I want to prepare for the PTE exam while also learning Korean, my teacher has tailored the lessons to balance both languages effectively. This has made my study sessions more efficient and enjoyable. The personalized approach helps me stay motivated and progress steadily in both English and Korean. I highly recommend my teacher to anyone looking for flexible and supportive language instruction! I’m looking forward to the next lesson!!!

In today's class, I learned the grammar "도" and completed grammar exercises, listening, and reading practice. I still remembered some of the content from the previous lesson, but I realized that I am not very good at remembering vocabulary and need more practice. When making sentences, I struggled with some words, so I hope to memorize more vocabulary to improve my fluency. Moving forward, I will focus on expanding my vocabulary to use Korean more naturally.

Q3. How do I choose my tutor?
If you have a clear idea of your criteria for choosing a tutor - such as any specific learning objectives, target cost for tutoring, etc. - you can use the search function to quickly find a tutor who suits your needs, and select “book trial” to set up your first online lesson.
If you don't have time to find a tutor or aren't sure where to start, we can help with recommendations. Try using our tutor recommendation tool here, which will provide you with tutor matches according to your selected needs.
Q4. What's the right learning environment for me? Should I choose a tutor who is a native speaker?
One of the best ways to learn is to immerse yourself in an environment where you try to use only .
However, if you do not currently have a solid base in spelling and/or vocabulary, we recommend you choose a bilingual tutor who speaks your target language and your native language, as you will likely have a better learning experience during your one-on-one private tutoring.
If you have a good range of vocabulary but lack the opportunity to practice, then we recommend you choose a native tutor.
Q5. Learn in the US - how do I find a local or online tutor?
You're in the right place. We have local tutors serving New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and most other areas nationwide, as well as numerous tutors based internationally.
Q6. How much will my online class cost?
All tutoring fees are set by the tutors themselves, and not by AT. Most of our tutors charge USD$10-30 per hour.
You can also get matched with suitable tutors who fit a specific budget. If the tutor’s fees work for you, you can buy a lesson package from them or start with a “trial lesson.”
Q7. How do I pay for my lessons?
You can pay with PayPal or credit card (American Express, Mastercard, or Visa). For certain international markets (e.g. Taiwan), we also accept local methods of payment, such as payment via ATM or convenience store.
Q8. How many lessons should I purchase?
If you have a short term goal, we recommend you purchase enough lessons that you can take classes consistently within your timeframe. If you need significant improvement to reach your goal, we recommend you an adequate number of lessons, and get into the habit of regular weekly learning! The more you put in, the more you get out of it!
Q9. What if I have more questions?
Our FAQs page should have answers to most of your questions. If you can't find the answer to your question on the FAQs page, you can contact us by clicking the red question mark (?) icon at the bottom right of your screen.
